Wow, it's been a while since I managed a post! I've been sooo busy running around with the little boys. We went on holiday without booking return travel, and having meant to stay for less than a week ended up away for two! I really enjoyed the freedom I was able to give the boys, and appreciated their versatility to the situation.
I thought I'd get back to the blog by sharing in with the yarn along this week. I'm really REALLY enjoying Sheila Kitzinger's autobiography, A Passion For Birth. I cannot get enough of this book. It's big, and I have nearly finished it in a week. I'm going to have a serious book hangover when it's finished. This is a woman who speaks the truth and stands up for women who cannot speak for themselves. Oh I have a new hero. I've made a list of all of her publications to read. Obviously this won't happen, but, you know... Do come back next week for a proper write up. And read the book! Knitting this week is another test knit for the lovely Jennie from A Lovely Homemade Life. It's been slow going due to being away on my own with the boys, but I have just got down to separating for the sleeves, and hope to get most of it done this week. The yarn is a tweedy aran that I found 650g of in the stash, that I think I got from a charity shop, or from my friend Rose, who has the most amazing stash and merrily gives away yarn she has fallen out with. It's mostly cream with tan and green flecks, and feels really nice. I suspect it is a wool/acrylic mix, especially since it seems to have come from two of those 400g balls. It's going to be for me, yay!
What are you working on this week? Do let me know! Have you ever made an open ended journey with small children? I'd love to hear from you!
